Mona Amer is Of Counsel to the firm. Her practice focuses on white collar criminal defense and corporate investigations. Mona also has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts involving breach of contract, fraud and unfair business practices.

Environmental Crimes

• Assisted in three criminal investigations concerning fraud allegations on the California Underground Storage Take Fund which were all initiated by the State Water Resources Control Board and the Attorney General's Office.

• Aided in the representation of a hotel engineer involved in a federal criminal investigation regarding the Clean Water Act violations.

 

Asset Recovery

• Aided in the recovery of more than US $2 million cash for a victim of art fraud. 

• Assisted in the initiation of state court lawsuits to extricate a major international union from US$25 million worth of fraudulent leases and resolved the litigation favorably for the client.

 

Healthcare

• Aided in the representation of a nursing home chain faced with a D.A. investigation regarding allegations of elder abuse and homicide. 

• Assisted in the representation of several healthcare professionals faced with federal or state criminal investigations regarding allegations of Medicare/Medical fraud or distribution of medically unnecessary prescriptions.

 

Mail/Wire/Securities Fraud

• Aided in the representation of a KB Home senior executive faced with a U.S. Attorney's Office investigation and subsequent Securities & Exchange Commission Investigation regarding allegations of stock options backdating.
